Continuous Feeding

Tractor Feed: Using the plastic guides, feed the paper into the printer and align the tracks to the tractor pins. Press the select button to take the printer off-line, and move the bail lever forward to automatically advance the paper to the first print line. Press the select button to return the printer to the on-line position.

Optional Feeder: Sheet feeder available through printer dealer

Manual Feeding

Turn on the printer power. Press the select button to put the printer off-line. (the SELECT light should be off.) Insert a sheet of paper into the sheet guide insertion slot, using the ruler to align the paper with the first print position. The left edge of 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper should align with the outer edge of the 4 symbol. Move the bail lever to the forward position to automatically advance the sheet to the first print line. IF the Load/Tear Off setting in the memory mode is set to "1 inch" (factory default), return the bail lever to the rear position. If it is set to "Short adj.," leave the bail lever in the forward position. The paper bail closes automatically when printing exceeds 1 inch from the tear off position. Press the SELECT button to put the printer on-line.

  1 inch - Sets printing position so the bottom of the first print line is 1 inch below the paper tear position.
  Short adj. - Adjusts printing position so the bottom of the first print line is less than 1 inch below paper tear position. To perform a fine forward adjustment, hold down the FEED and SEI-ECT buttons while pressing the PITCH button. To move backward, hold the QUIET button while performing a fine forward adjustment.
  If you wish to save the current setting into printer memory, press the SELECT button. The setting remains in memory after power is turned off.
  Smudging can occur when printing takes place less than 1 inch from the top of page. When printing in this area, it is advisable to avoid graphic characters, double height, enhanced, double strike, color, and dot graphics printing.

1. Left margin column Selects the left margin default position. You can select column 1 to 80 (10 cpi).
2. Horizontal alignment LQ Aligns the horizontal print position of letter-quality bi-directional printing.
